A Midsummer Social & the CWC Annual Meeting

On: Tuesday, July 19th, 6:30 to 8:30 pm

At: Brewers@4001Yancey,

4001-A Yancey Road, Charlotte, NC 28217

Please join us for A Midsummer Social to celebrate your published words and to look ahead to the 2022-2023 program year which kicks off in September. We hope you will come and bring a friend!

CWC members your first drink and assorted nibbles are on us while you hobnob with fellow writers! Bring your books, your collections of poetry, anthologies and journals that your work has been published in, show them off, and maybe you'll even sell a few.

You will also have the opportunity to donate $25 (or more) and to order your free Centennial T-shirt, as our thank you for your contribution to our ongoing programs.

During the brief business meeting we will:

  • Vote on the 2022-2023 executive board who will lead the club into the next century. Immediate Past President Caroline Kane Kenna will preside over the election and install those who are present.

Here is the current slate of executive officers:

President David Collins, you know him from his excellent work on the Gala Like No Other and as our program planner extraordinaire.

Vice President of Membership Axel Dahlberg, who has been our membership Guru for the past two years and last year was the Student Engagement coordinator.

Treasurer Lisa Otter Rose, joins the team

Immediate Past President, Caroline Kane Kenna, a non-voting member.
  • Dave will introduce his team and give you the latest on The CWC at the Mint on Randolph with Therese Anne Fowler. The Book & Author Talk will take place on Sunday evening, October 2nd at 6:00 pm.
  • Dave will also provide a sneak peek at what we're planning for meetings in the last quarter of our 100th Year of Words.

Enter the brewery and tell the host/hostess you are with the CWC. They'll direct you to the section set aside for us. There are a few parking spaces on both sides of Yancey Road, but you’re more likely to find a spot in the parking lot. The entrance is on the left about 150 yards after you turn from the Old Pineville Road onto Yancey. check out the website, Brewers@4001 Yancey

Are you willing to join the team and help us into the future? What do we need?

  • ·      Publicity Team
  • ·      Co-chairs to run our contests

The CWC is a volunteer organization and functions best when all of our leadership roles are filled. At the moment there are ample opportunities to do your part and one of these positions has to be “just right” for you.
